Equus and NYC weekend!!

So
my bff and I went to NYC this past weekend! We stayed with my ljbff
lotus_lizzy and her hubby Adam, and we all had so much fun!
We saw more sights than I even considered being able to see, and I learned many things, such as:
-Elizabeth and I are not big on travel plans.
-It's fun to stay at the YMCA, especially when there's cake, old people, balloons, and a really really Italian guy named Michael.
-Picabo Street now works in the Intensive Care Unit.
-Adam will always indulge my "your mom" jokes, but he is spoken for.
-If you are ever in NYC and want to take a bus tour, there is a very nice man named Latif who can help you. Just, uh...don't tell him I sent you.
-Last week, a guy stood up on a tour bus and was decapitated by a street light. Dead. True story.
-The legal age of consent in the UK is 16. Which makes me really want to go to the UK and track down a cute British boy named James.
-There is only one building in NYC that was not the tallest building in the world at any point in time.
-Cats can play fetch.
-And finally, Daniel Radcliffe's penis is proportionate to his body, and his testicles appear to be of average size.
That finally point brings me to Equus.
I have to admit, I'm not really a theatre buff, and I'm not particularly artsy. So I don't have a lot to say about Equus. For a very in depth and wonderful review, see
lotus_lizzy's entry here. I'm just going to say "ditto" to that. If I tried for anything else, the only parts that will make sense will be "the horses were so pretty," and "DRad has the cutest bum," and "wow, I wonder how heavy those blocks are."
A very cool thing that we got to experience was the entire cast coming back on stage after the curtain call to tell us about Broadway Cares. They were raising money and were in a competition with a couple other Broadway shows, and so they had a little auction. By little, I mean they auctioned Dan's pants, (unfortunately not the ones he was wearing, although he offered) which were a size 29 waist with "short legs" (Dan's words). The pants ended up selling for $1000, but the fun part was watching the cast interact outside of the play, and witnessing just how socially awkward Dan is in real life. *sigh* I am such a sucker for socially awkward boys.
Also, on Saturday, we got to have dinner with
bk7brokemybrain! Because
my bff is the only person in my RL who knows about my HP slash fascination, although he's not really into it, it was so nice to have a discussion with people who understand why I love it. I only wish we could have talked even longer. Oh well, there's always next trip! :)

Thanks for the links - I am well into "Draco's Boy" and I love it. I've already read empathic siren's Snarry stuff and I loved that, too.
