wtfmalfoy.I'm going to be doing a flist cut in the next couple days. I've never done one before, and as I scanned my flist, I realized there are a lot of people that I don't really talk to anymore, and people that rarely, if ever, comment on my few-and-far-between entries, so I figure it's time for a cut to make my flist more manageable.
So here's the standard defriending amnesty policy. No harm, no foul, if you want to defriend me. It's all good.
If you're a lurker who'd like to stick around, feel free to say so. I won't cut anyone who wants to stay. Comments are screened. :)

Criminal Minds Case!fic Fest

This fest will be for case-centric fiction. Though pairings are allowed, a case must be the focus of the story. A rules post will be up sometime this weekend.
There are several ways to participate in this fest. Prompting starts May 2. Anyone can submit a prompt, and later, anyone (and everyone!) is welcome to claim prompts for fiction. We hope to have some amazing participation!

So I'm really loving all of the fics athd_holidays, but this one is just so adorable that I had to make sure everyone read it.
Twelfth Night, or Harry Potter is a No Good Tosser
It's told from the POV of Draco's son Hayden, who is a squib. Basically, when Draco found out that Hayden had no magic, he moved them to the muggle world so that Hayden wouldn't feel left out.
Hayden's POV is so child-like, but also wise beyond his years, all at the same time. Even if you're not a Draco/Harry shipper, you'll love this story. It's great!

Warnings: Angst, smex, cross-gen, infidelity.
OH. MY. GOD. This is just beautiful. Absolutely fucking beautiful. It's infidelity, which I usually don't read much of, but there are so many other layers to this story, and though the infidelity is essential to the story, there are so many other aspects of the story that just about everyone can relate to. (Most especially, that one person that you just couldn't ever walk away from, no matter how screwed up you were together. Staying apart was never an option.) It's absolutely worth the read.

Parents allow their 8 year old son to live as a girl
God bless these parents, who can recognize that their child feels different and put their child's needs above what society (and apparently, the Catholic Church) feel is "normal" in order to meet those needs. I can't imagine how hard it must be for a transgendered child to grow up. These parents are so brave and loving and amazing, and I hope that other parents will follow their example and encourage their children to live their lives in the way that will enable them to be their healthiest and happiest.

Draco is too, because I know deep down that Draco is a big ol' softie and JKR just got him a bad rep. I also love that dacro informs us about the Deaf community, but it never sounds wordy or over our heads. Fantastic!!! Go read it now!
